What they said
- STATEMENT
If the House Floor was managed properly, discharge petitions would never be needed. A successful discharge petition is clear and direct evidence of a poorly managed House Floor, because it demonstrates that the will of the majority of the People is being thwarted by the privileged few. Leadership of both parties have been guilty of this for years.
- STATEMENT
I absolutely would, if it were just ICE... I told our Democrat colleagues that I would absolutely sign it. In fact, was planning on signing it until I was told, as I was approaching the desk to sign it, that it included cutting off CBP funding.
- STATEMENT
Peace becomes possible when aggression carries a cost greater than its reward. For too long, Putin has relied on energy revenues, financial networks, and willing enablers to sustain his war against Ukraine.
- STATEMENT
Reported, not stated directly by Fitzpatrick: he is one of four Republicans (with Reps. Thomas Massie, Ralph Norman, and Nancy Mace) who signed onto the Epstein Files Transparency Act II discharge petition, announced by Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna on Sept 17, 2026. MeidasTouch reported his signature as the 216th recorded on the Clerk list on Sept 16, 2026. No direct public statement by Fitzpatrick on the Epstein files release could be found as of 2026-10-01.
- STATEMENT
"I want to express my sincere gratitude to the dedicated men and women of the United States Capitol Police, the U.S. Attorney's Office, and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office for their professionalism and diligence in this matter, and for their continued service to our community and country. Threats of violence against anyone, under any circumstances, are never acceptable. There can be no ambiguity about that. Such allegations must be taken seriously, and the judicial process must be allowed to run its course."
- FACT
A federal grand jury indicted Aaron Michael McComsey, 44, of Perkasie, on two counts of threatening to assault, kidnap, or murder a federal official identified by the initials 'B.F.' The indictment alleges McComsey sent threatening emails in August demanding $6,000 after losing health insurance; he faces a maximum 12-year sentence. Fitzpatrick confirmed Oct 16 he is the targeted congressman.
Verification note: Indictment details as reported by local outlets from the DOJ filing; the indictment text itself was not independently retrieved.
- FACT
Fitzpatrick took the first concrete legislative step against the Trump administration's Russian diesel purchase deal by beginning a discharge petition to force a House vote on the 'Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act,' his bill to block any and all Russian oil purchases. He announced the bill Oct 10 on X: "We will be introducing bipartisan legislation to block any and all purchases of Russian oil. It will be called the 'Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act.' It will be forced to the Floor via discharge and it will pass overwhelmingly." Rep. Don Bacon agreed to co-sponsor.
Verification note: The underlying pledge was announced Oct 10 (outside window); the discharge-petition step was reported in Oct 11-12 coverage.
- FACT
An internal Global Strategy Group poll reported Oct 15 shows Fitzpatrick tied 46-46 with Democratic challenger Bob Harvie in PA-01. GSG's lead for Fitzpatrick has eroded across three surveys: 48-42 in March, 47-43 in August, now tied; non-affiliated voters (18% of the electorate) split 42-42. Republicans hold a +1.5% registration edge; Cook shifted the race from Likely R to Lean R.
