What they said
- STATEMENT
Let me set the record straight: yesterday I voted against Trump's $73 billion slush fund for the Iran war, and just now I just voted to end the war, my fifth vote to end the war since March. I do not support this war. It doesn't make America more secure or prosperous and it isn't a strategy for durable peace. Said Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez, That said, blocking service member raises and weakening our domestic manufacturing base also won't make the US secure or prosperous. I stand with my constituents in opposition to this war, and in support of the long term strength of our military, and stability of our great nation.
- STATEMENT
When fishermen in Pacific County get in trouble out on the water, the Coast Guard makes sure they're safe. When there's flooding or landslides in Southwest Washington, FEMA helps our families get back on their feet. The Department of Homeland Security is extremely important to my community. I could not in good conscience vote to shut it down. It now appears to many of us that in pursuit of politically motivated removal goals and rushed timelines, federal law enforcement is being pressured to exercise overly aggressive tactics that endanger law enforcement and civilians. This is corrosive to the long term security and stability of our great country. Indiscriminate, overly aggressive slogans like 'Defund ICE' are not the solutions. We should not be forced into a false choice between having no border security and arresting US citizens.
- STATEMENT
My prayers are with the President and his family. I'm sure this was not an easy decision for him to make, and I believe he made it with the national interest in mind. My job is to represent everyone in Southwest Washington, and most of them do not have confidence in the President's fitness to serve. They deserve to have their confidence restored.
- STATEMENT
On tariffs: tariffs "are a tool that can be used recklessly or productively" and the Trump administration has done "a terrible job" of carrying out "a strategic, thoughtful" tariff policy.
- STATEMENT
"I think everything that you need to know about how Senator Braun will respond, how he'll write rules, how he'll listen to people who have actually been involved in accidents, you can see in how he treated the family of a man who was killed in an accident at his own company."
Verification note: Verbatim via debate coverage; Braun disputes the characterization of his response to the fatal August 2024 accident at Braun Northwest.
- FACT
Her campaign launched an ad Oct 14 featuring Colten Keller, whose father Karl Keller was killed in an August 2024 workplace accident at Braun Northwest. In the ad Keller says Braun never called or asked how his family was doing; Braun says he spoke with Keller in person twice on the day of the accident and disputes the ad.
Verification note: Ad content as reported; underlying claims disputed by Braun and unadjudicated.

- DISCREPANCY (flagged, presented as stated): her 2026-07-23 office release says she 'voted against Trump's $73 billion slush fund for the Iran war' on 2026-07-22; her documented 7/22 roll calls show Yea on H.R. 8800 (FY2027 NDAA) and Nay on H.Con.Res. 113 (FY2027 budget resolution). The $73 billion figure matches no published roll-call vote total. Note: an Oct 2026 op-ed (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/op-eds/4745837/congress-45-billion-iran-war-funding-vote/) later estimated the budget resolution 'would allow up to roughly $73 billion for the war,' which is an analytical estimate, not a vote total.
